Erekle Pirveli is a Fulbright Visiting Scholar in the Economics, Finance, and Accounting Area of the MIT Sloan School of Management.
Prior to this, he held an appointment as an Associate Professor and Senior Researcher at the Caucasus School of Business, Georgia, and as an Assistant Professor at the University of Bremen, Germany. He also worked at the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, in the Accounting and Audit Public Oversight Board.
Pirveli specializes in issues related to capital market research in accounting and finance, with a particular focus on emerging economies. His research seeks to understand the design, implementation, and impact of financial information for capital market investment decisions.
Pirveli is the recipient of the 2014 Best Paper award from the World Business Institute (WBI). He holds a BBA (Hons.) from Tbilisi State University and a PhD (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of Bremen.
