Jesse Souweine is the Senior Associate Dean for Administration. Her primary areas of responsibility and oversight include Human Resources, Sloan Technology Services, Space Planning and Facilities, and Finance.
Prior to joining MIT Sloan, Jesse was the Associate Vice President for Finance and the Director of the Office of Financial Strategy and Planning at Harvard University. In this capacity, she oversaw the multi-year financial planning and annual budget processes for the University, including the annual tuition setting process and the University’s interim financial reporting activities. In addition, she led the University’s financial strategy, including decisions about endowment access, internal cost allocations, and funding for new investments.
Prior to working at Harvard, Jesse worked in a variety of non-profit and public settings including The Columbus Foundation, where she helped develop a program to broaden the community impact of donor advised funds. She also worked for the city of Boston as an advisor to Mayor Thomas M. Menino on a variety of policy and management projects and at the Vera Institute of Justice, working on criminal justice reform for the city and state of New York.
She holds a BA in American Studies from Cornell University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
