China Lab pairs dozens of MBA students from MIT Sloan with international MBA (IMBA) students from premier business schools in China who collaborate from January through April. Tasked with a specific project that caters to a participating host company's needs, each student team works across cultures and time zones to put traditional classroom learning into real-world practice while addressing critical issues and promoting economic growth.
China Lab sends up to 24 student teams to an equal number of host companies each spring, and several participating companies and entrepreneurs have begun requesting teams annually, based on the strength and impact of the work. As participants would attest, China Lab is a rare opportunity for an intensely interactive experience with academic, intellectual, cross-cultural, and personal gains for all involved.
