The Kennedy Center, located in Washington, D.C., is one of the nation's foremost artistic venues. As a leading patron of the arts, it has introduced international acts to the American stage, and serves as the home of the National Symphony Orchestra. Its education and young talent programs have also fostered some of the greatest musical talent in the country for the last forty years.
Michael Kaiser currently serves as the center's president. His past involvement in the performing arts includes work the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater, the American Ballet Theater, and the Royal Opera House in London. Dubbed “Mr. Turnaround” for his ability to revive and develop struggling programs, Mr. Kaiser has successfully applied smart business principles to management of the arts.

This year's dinner and wine tasting will take place at Matsuri in the Maritime Hotel.
Matsuri, with Chef Tadashi Ono's noted cuisine, is a celebration of Japanese food. Fresh fish and organic grains are flown in daily from Japan. The menu, which changes seasonally, includes such standouts as thinly-sliced fluke sashimi with red pepper and ponzu, Sake Black Cod and yellowtail sashimi with ginger vinegar sauce. The menu has more than 200 kinds of sake, including Daruma, a special house sake made by a renowned sake brewer. Harris Rabin (SM ’04) and his family are sponsoring the event, with wines donated by Harris' father Sheldon Rabin.
The cost of the six-course wine/food pairing is $115.
