We are delighted to have a breakfast with Pérsio Arida, MIT PhD in Economics. Pérsio will share with us his thoughts about the reforms Brazil went through during Plano Real, and the ones that Brazil is facing nowadays.
Pérsio Arida has taken part in the crafting of the Plano Real. More specifically, he was one of the creators of the Unidade Real de Valor, a non-monetary currency and the most sophisticated and theoretical piece of the Plano Real.; more specifically. In 1995, he was president of the Central Bank of Brazil and Special Secretary of Social-Economic Coordination. More recently, Pérsio has been the Chairman of the Board of BTG Pactual.
