  • Reunion 2010

    Dear Reunion ’10 Celebrant:
On behalf of our colleagues at MIT Sloan, thank you for participating in a very successful Reunion. This was one of the largest gatherings of Reunion-year alumni in the history of the School, with more than 1080 alumni, family members and friends participating in 41 Reunion events during the weekend. Alumni from 35 countries, including France, Israel, Brazil, and Japan, as well 404 alumni from the United States, attended.

As of June 1, alumni celebrating an MIT Sloan reunion in 2010 have generously contributed an impressive $4,534,738.28 in gifts and pledges to MIT, including $1,722,844.36 in gifts solely dedicated to MIT Sloan. Special thanks and applause go to the eight Reunion Committees that achieved an impressive 100 percent participation: 1960, 1965, 1970, 1975, 1980, 1985, 1990, and 2000. Congratulations are also due to the Class of 1965 for achieving the highest overall participation with 44 percent, and the Class of 1980 for breaking the 30th Reunion participation record with 41 percent.

In addition to strengthening connections throughout the MIT Sloan community, Reunion also offers opportunities to engage in academic exploration. Alumni gained a better understanding of the impact of the economic crisis, innovation in business, action based learning, strategies for using social media, and entrepreneurial development and impact through workshops and Back to the Classroom sessions.

Reconnecting with faculty and fellow graduates, sharing experience and expertise with each other, and continuing to build alumni financial support of the School are but a few of the ways that Reunion and other alumni engagement are key to the future success of MIT Sloan. Your involvement is a powerful vote of confidence in MIT Sloan's mission of developing principled, innovative leaders who improve the world.

Many thanks for all you do on behalf of MIT Sloan. We look forward to seeing you again soon, especially at your next Reunion.

    Sincerely,
    MIT Sloan Reunion Team
