MIT Sloan recognizes the donor for the combined personal and corporate matching gift, provided that both are received within the same fiscal year (July 1 to June 30). MIT recently established the MIT Foundation (UK), a charitable vehicle intended to benefit the particular tax relief needs of MIT's UK-based alumni and friends. The Foundation is registered and operating as a charity in the UK for tax purposes. Gifts made to the Foundation by UK tax payers may be eligible for Gift Aid, a UK tax relief designed to encourage charitable giving. In addition, US tax filing donors may be eligible for a deduction on their US income tax returns for contributions made to the Foundation.
Gifts can be made online at https://mitfoundationuk.mit.edu. Receipts for gifts made to the Foundation will be issued to the donor by the Foundation and a US tax letter will be issued by the MIT Office of the Recording Secretary.
