Please feel free to contact us if you’d like to learn more about SIP. Additional dates will be added to the schedule throughout the year.
The Sloan Innovation Period (SIP) replaces the traditional 13-week semester with a more effective rhythm, allowing students to engage in intellectual exploration outside the classroom. The MIT Leadership Center organizes SIP seminars that include real-time simulations, personal sessions with senior executives, practitioner panels and presentations, skill-building workshops, and self-assessment and reflection activities.
SIP occurs at the midpoint of each semester and provides students with an intensive week of experiential leadership learning, as well as exposure to groundbreaking faculty work. With SIP, students and faculty have the time and flexibility to engage in new and exciting intellectual exploration. Outside the rigid bounds of ordinary classrooms students practice the hands-on skills of leadership, and delve deeply into their areas of interest.
As SIP is a student-based initiative, there are limited seating options for alumni.
