Executive Certificates

MIT Sloan Executive Certificates are awarded to participants who have completed four or more open enrollment programs within a four-year period. Executive Certificates are offered in three areas of concentration and provide executives with the opportunity to tailor their education plans to meet their own career development needs.

To qualify for each certificate, participants must complete three programs from their chosen track, along with one other program from any of the three tracks.

Executive Certificate in Strategy and Innovation
This certificate provides new strategic approaches and tools for managing products, technology, and innovation. It introduces breakthrough concepts to identify, capture, and deliver on great ideas, and to successfully drive innovation throughout the organization.

• Corporate Strategy
• Developing and Managing a Successful Technology and Product Strategy
• Driving Strategic Innovation
• Implementing Radical Innovation: The Corporate Venturing Imperative

• Reinventing Your Business Strategy

Executive Certificate in Technology, Operations, and Value Chain Management
This certificate features MIT innovations in supply chain strategy, product design, project management, and operations. It provides insight into new ways of doing business in today's global economy and emphasizes the changes that organizations must make in order to manage the complexity of an extended enterprise.

Choose three of the following, plus any other executive program:

• IT for the Non-IT Executive
• Managing Complex Product Development Projects
• Product Design, Development, and Management
• Strategic Cost Analysis for Program and Project Management
• Supply Chain Strategy and Management

Executive Certificate in Management and Leadership
This certificate covers core business skills in marketing, finance, organizational processes, change management, and systems thinking. It is an ideal option for technical executives seeking to enhance their general management and leadership skills in order to advance their projects, products, and careers within the organization.

Choose three of the following, plus any other executive program:

• Entrepreneurship Development Program
• Fundamentals of Finance for the Technical Executive
• International Management Program (IMP)
• Leadership Accountability and the Law
• Leading Change in Complex Organizations

Executive Certificate Benefits
An MIT Sloan Executive Certificate is formal recognition of your professional development and commitment to continuous learning. Pursuing an Executive Certificate allows you to further your business knowledge and skills on a convenient, flexible schedule of your own design. Our programs are offered throughout the year and range from two days to six weeks in duration. Through our certificate concentrations, you are able focus your development on a set of competencies that will allow you to have an immediate and lasting impact on your organization's future.

Participants who have earned an Executive Certificate will receive:

How Do I Enroll?
There is no separate application process for Executive Certificates. Simply note on your program application/registration form or brochure request form which certificate you would like to pursue, or e-mail sloanexeced@mit.edu at any time to let us know. You will be automatically awarded the appropriate certificate after completion of the four programs.*
