Senior Lecturer, Technological Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Strategic Management
Imran Sayeed is a Senior Lecturer in Technological Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Strategic Management at the MIT Sloan School of Management.
Sayeed leads all commercial-sector industry, technology consulting, and outsourcing practices for Keane, a global business process outsourcing (BPO) and information technology (IT) services company with about 14,000 professionals worldwide. Sayeed came to Keane through its acquisition of netNumina, a boutique technology strategy and consulting firm that he founded and grew from a 15-person startup to one of Computerwold’s Top 100 emerging companies and Inc. 500’s fastest-growing businesses. Sayeed has over 18 years of experience in software and services. Previously, as a founder of Open Environment, he grew the company from a 10-person startup to an initial public offering and a leader in the middleware market.
Sayeed is currently teaching in the MIT Sloan MBA program on starting and running software companies. He is chairman of OPEN, the Organization of Pakistan Entrepreneurs, which has more than 3,000 executives and entrepreneurs as members and chapters in six cities across the United States. Sayeed serves on the advisory board of several software and private equity companies. He also holds a patent on technology for providing secure financial transactions over the Internet that he jointly developed with Citigroup.
Sayeed holds a BA in engineering from Brown University and did post-graduate work in business, marketing, and product development at Harvard University.
