Institute For Work & Employment Research (IWER)

Founded in 1937, this research center studies the full range of issues related to work, labor-employment relations, human resource management, labor market theory, and public policy analysis. IWER faculty and graduate students research technology's relation to organizational and industrial structure. They also explore dispute resolution, employment policy for disadvantaged workers, training, and health and safety. IWER includes faculty from the MIT departments of Urban Planning, Political Science, Economics, and History, as well as MIT Sloan.
