Operations Management Group (OMG)

This research group is at the core of all research and teaching activities related to Operations Management at MIT Sloan. The group focuses on the design and management of products, processes, services, and supply chains. It considers the acquisition, development, and utilization of resources that firms need to deliver the goods and services their clients want. Representative issues include the size and location of manufacturing plants; pricing and structure of service in telecommunications networks; e-procurement; design of technology supply chains; plant layout and structure; project management methods; production scheduling and control; inventory management; and quality control and inspection.
