India Lab, which is based on MIT Sloan's renowned Global Entrepreneurship Lab (G-Lab) and China Lab programs, is an exceptional new program that combines traditional classroom learning with intensive real-world experience. Each 4-person student team collaborates on a 3-month consulting project with a business in India to address an issue that the host company seeks to resolve. Companies then negotiate with their teams to agree on the scope, schedule and deliverables of the project.
The projects kick off in early February and feature an intensive, two-week internship in the host company's offices in the second half of March. After a five-week remote internship period for research, data, and analysis, teams formally present their conclusions to senior management in early May, delivering written reports and backup data detailing their analysis. Host company executives may choose to travel to MIT Sloan in May for an in-person presentation and consultation.
