MIT Sloan is collaborating with the top two Portuguese business schools, Nova SBE and Católica-Lisbon in the creation of a one year full-time MBA program based in Lisbon.

About the Collaboration

The prestigious Universidade Católica Portuguesa and Universidade Nova de Lisboa are working closely with MIT Sloan in The Lisbon MBA Full-Time Program, a one-year MBA based in the romantic and historic Portuguese capital. Students receive a joint MBA degree from Nova and Católica-Lisbon as well as a certificate from MIT.

The Lisbon MBA Full-Time Program enhances the internationalization of both schools, while also contributing to MIT Sloan's collaborations with leading institutions to strengthen management education around the world.

The Lisbon MBA Full-Time Program is designed to prepare innovative leaders capable of responding to opportunities and challenges in today's business world. The intense curriculum promises to hone managers' abilities to think creatively about complex situations, successfully lead teams, and drive change in the global economy.

The Program's launch was celebrated in January 2009, with the support of the Portuguese Prime Minister, José Socrates, and numerous corporate partners and foundations. The collaboration was announced the previous year.

About The Lisbon MBA

Students of The Lisbon MBA benefit from the combined resources, faculty, and expertise of Católica|Nova and MIT Sloan, while gaining a unique management education focused on interpersonal and leadership skills, as well as core competencies.

The Lisbon MBA Full-Time Program offers students:

• A solid foundation in management competencies in a 12-month course that includes core MBA courses, international perspectives, a wide range of elective courses, and business case competitions
• Intense hands-on training in interpersonal skills and growth during the Friday Forum Series, taught by renowned international guest speakers and professors
• A summer immersion at the MIT Sloan School of Management in global strategy, innovation and entrepreneurship, and business law and ethics
• Individualized Career Management services and exposure to various companies in diverse industries
• A 7-9 week summer internship or International Lab in China or Brazil, which provides an intensive real-world experience.
• Support from the highly successful and tight-knit Católica | Nova Alumni community
• The opportunity to experience life abroad in Lisbon with academic, business and cultural exposure to both historically and currently relevant people, places, and ideas
