The MIT Sloan Marketing group faculty is engaged in award-winning research projects that cross disciplinary lines and focus on heretofore unknown elements of consumer behavior. Professor Drazen Prelec is studying MRI scans of the brain to learn more about consumer decision-making. Professor Catherine Tucker is exploring the complex nature of Internet privacy policy, including the benefits—and costs—for consumers. This type of work illustrates the key role that marketing plays in creating strategy for a wide variety of industries.
