Why It Matters

These evolving ideas about decision-making and leadership provided managers with useful context in a year marked by uncertainty.

In 2019, MIT Sloan launched “Working Definitions,” a weekly Instagram series exploring exciting and interesting new ideas to advance management practice and build a better, smarter world.

The most popular ideas and phrases last year centered around innovation and potential. This year’s most-liked Working Definitions dealt with decision-making and leadership — an unsurprising theme given all that’s happened in 2020.
