The summer internship between the first and second MBA years allows students to explore an industry, build a relationship with a prospective employer, or simply hone their skills in a familiar field. Whether it is in nearby Kendall Square, or halfway around the world, summer internships provide invaluable knowledge and networking experience for MIT Sloan students — and are often an integral part of the job search process.
Managed by the Socially Responsible Business Club and the MBA Program Office, the MIT Sloan Nonprofit Internship Fund utilizes contributions from MBA students and other sources to enable selected fellow classmates to take internships in non-profits by matching their salaries. Roughly 95 percent of the MBA class of 2005 pledged one percent of their summer salaries to sponsor classmates doing internships in nonprofit organizations.
