Imagine nearly 500 Sloanies dining and dancing in one of the most beautiful ballrooms in Boston and you will begin to picture the Fall Ball.
Planned each year by the MIT Sloan Activities Board with generous support from the MBA Student Affairs Office, the Fall Ball is one event that really serves to welcome students, significant others, and staff to campus and give them an excuse to dress up without putting on a nametag.
This fall due to the hard work of Jody Muehlegger '08, Raphael Girardoni '09, Liz Magruder '09, Nga Phan '09, Melissa Edouard '09, and Kwasi Frimpong '09 and with tremendous support from the entire SAB team, the Fall Ball was the largest in recent memory and held at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel. Careful negotiations along with some creativity and hard work allowed the organizing team to pull off a great event within budget and inclusive of every student who wanted to attend.
By the time the night of the Fall Ball rolled around, there was nothing left to do but enjoy the company of old and new friends over a great meal and dancing. A toast from the Class of 2009 to the Class of 2008 opened the evening, but it would be many hours later that the DJ played the final song and the crowd cleared off the dance floor. All in all, the SAB was thrilled that this signature MIT Sloan event was such a success and fun for all involved.
