Kunming Wrap up

A few things have become clear to me since getting back from China. First and foremost, it is going to be hard to live up to the hosting standards set by the MBAs in China. They were spectacular to us the entire time and now that they are coming here at the end of the month, I’m frantically trying to put together an equally great time. Thankfully MIT is being extremely supportive and coordinating a few things as well.

While there, our hosts took us to a show about Peacocks. It was a music and dance performance filled with the historical traditions of the native people of Kunming. It really resonated with my own native American roots and made me feel an extremely deep connection to the Chinese natives. That experience may be impossible to replicate here.

Next, relationships are so important. Things have gotten so much easier working on the project now that we’ve met our partners in person. On the flip side though, it was easier to work together when we were in person too. The 12 hour time difference leads to many delays.

Only a few weeks remain, I’m excited to put the final touches on our report and present it to the CEO.
