Thoughts on the Colombian Adventure

With our G-LAB adventure behind us and the last semester of classes ramping up and getting us busy already, I can’t help but remember that I was holding meetings in the heart of Bogota’s business district and holding meetings and workshops in Spanish just over two weeks ago.

It seems a bit surreal, but the photos, presentations, and toolkits we are compiling and preparing as we get ready for our final deliverable submissions and poster day prove that this was the amazing experience we had just gone through.

For me the highlights include:

1- Pushing my  humble Spanish language abilities to the max and way out of my comfort zone whether in business or social contexts

2- Getting our client, the Founder and CEO to think out of the box and not get distracted with his ten years of success in Colombia but to start embracing new innovative ideas and actually implement them.

3- Deep dives into Design Thinking and Culture which were great practice that are guiding me in my own entrepreneurial pursuits.

There are many other lessons that have made this my favorite experience during my MIT MBA journey.

Thank you MIT Sloan, Thank you G-Lab staff and everyone responsible for this course for helping me check another box off of my MIT Sloan to-do list and achieve one of my application goals in completing an Action Learning project in South America as I had put in my Sloan application.

If you’re on the fence, don’t think twice, G-Lab is a key reason to come to MIT Sloan, I wouldn’t replace it for anything čÖé
