Whew ... these past few weeks have been crazy. I ran my half-marathon on November 15 and it was an incredible experience. The 13.1 miles actually flew by despite the numerous hills (mountains?) that I was climbing and descending. I finished in a time of 1:55:24 which I was very happy with, however, nobody warned me about the recovery process. The first day was fine, but then then soreness descended and I spent the last week gingerly lowering myself into chairs and making odd noises that I'm sure had my classmates looking twice ... doesn't matter though, well worth it. As soon ...

I've been corresponding with some of the admitted students for next year's class. There's a Google Group set up for the class of 2011, and we also have one for my class: 2010. The online group was great for my classmates over the spring and summer for us to get to know each other, share ideas, and dream up plans for when we got to school. Starting with a shy little 38 messages in February of 2008, the energy picked up throughout the summer as more students joined (were accepted) and started really sharing info, backgrounds, and opinions. We now ...

The first half of the spring semester has flown by, and I can't believe SIP, or Sloan Innovation Period, is already upon us. Last week, I somehow managed to hand in 3 papers and have a Finance I midterm and now I am back to blogging and looking forward to the next two weeks of project work and relaxation! I have worked hard with three other classmates to co-organize a SIP study tour to Antigua over 10 days during SIP and Spring break. The objectives were to learn about the country, do some on the ground project work, and also ...

What a busy place! The second years had warned us that core would keep us busy. Spring semester is here and I am no less active. I have been working hard-core!1 However, this semester is less consumed by classes and, instead, filled up with the various activities and projects that I find myself signing up for. There are so many opportunities at Sloan that it is hard to have some self control and not sign up for everything under the sky! This semester I find myself working as a: representative of the Deans Student Advisory Council (DSAC) New Sector Alliance ...
