Ben Bernanke is the MIT Golub Center Distinguished Senior Fellow.
His research areas are macroeconomics, monetary economics, and economic history. He has held faculty positions at Stanford Graduate School of Business (1979-85) and Princeton University (1985-2002). His policy experience includes being a member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve (2002-05); chair of the Council of Economic Advisers (2005-06); and chair of the Federal Reserve (2006-2014). He is currently a Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution.
He holds a BA from Harvard (1975) and a PhD in economics from MIT (1979).
