Jennifer Grady Burgos is the Assistant Director of Media Relations at the MIT Sloan School of Management. At MIT Sloan, she focuses on promoting student stories, initiatives, events and innovations to print, online and broadcast media. She works closely with students to develop media strategies for conferences and specializes in media outreach to Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America. She oversees the social media strategy for the Media Relations department.
Jen volunteers with the nonprofit Friends of Mekele Blind School in Ethiopia. She and the nonprofit’s founder work together to provide better learning opportunities and living conditions for roughly 100 blind students in Mekele, Ethiopia.
Prior to MIT Sloan, she was the Assistant Managing Editor at the Massachusetts branch of a London-based book publishing group, Quayside Publishing. At Quayside Publishing she oversaw the group’s publishing schedule as well as developed book concepts, contracted authors, copyedited manuscripts and brainstormed design concepts.
Jen received a BA from Boston College in both English and Hispanic studies. She lived abroad in Bilbao, Spain and speaks Spanish. She is on the board of the U.S. Masters swim team at MIT and swims regularly with them.
