Deborah Ancona, faculty director of the MIT Leadership Center, and MIT Sloan Senior Lecturer William Isaacs say structural balance is vital to the success of teams. Their “Four-player model” asserts that, applied appropriately and in the proper sequence, four core acts — Move, Follow, Oppose, and Bystand — are the building blocks of an effective team.

In the News: Schoar wins Kauffman entrepreneurship award.: MIT Sloan Professor Antoinette Schoar has received the Ewing Marion Kauffman Prize Medal for Distinguished Research in Entrepreneurship.
