Kara Blackburn

Kara Blackburn is a Senior Lecturer in Managerial Communication at the MIT Sloan School of Management and an affiliate of MIT Sloan's Leadership Center.

Blackburn has spent the last 10 years coaching MBA students to be more effective communicators in the business environment.  At MIT Sloan, she teaches Communication for Leaders, a core course, Advanced Communication for Leaders, and has mentored teams in the Global Entrepreneurship Lab (G-Lab), and China and India Lab courses. 

Prior to joining MIT Sloan, Blackburn was on the faculty at Stern School of Business, New York University. She is a member of the Association for Business Communication and of the Management Communication Association. 

Blackburn holds a BA from Connecticut College, an MA from Columbia University, and a PhD from Boston College.
