Electives
With the completion of the first-semester Core, students have the freedom and flexibility to pursue their personal goals and interests throughout the rest of their time at MIT Sloan. In total, students must complete 144 units of electives (most subjects range from 3 to 12 units, based on weekly classroom hours, lab or thesis units, and outside preparation time). Students may take up to three approved non-MIT Sloan graduate-level MIT or Harvard subjects while enrolled in the program toward completion of degree requirements. During the second year, students have the option of writing a thesis.
MIT Sloan offers a dynamic curriculum that prepares students in all programs for the real management challenges that lie ahead. Courses have been strategically designed to provide a framework of knowledge and thinking skills that alumni draw on for the duration of their professional lives.
