#MITSloanExperts Twitter chat: 'COVID-19 Health Inequities + Mistrust' with Charles Senteio

Online
11:00AM - 12:00PM ET

In this upcoming Twitter Chat, MIT Sloan Visiting Assistant Professor Charles Senteio (@CharlesSenteio) will discuss the factors that influence who is impacted the most by coronavirus. He’s joined by Caitlin Owens (@caitlinnowens), a health care reporter at Axios.

Together they will explore the roles that misinformation and mistrust have played during the pandemic and how institutions have gained or lost credibility. Looking toward the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines, they will discuss the likely access barriers for communities of color to understand how historical and contemporary injustice may influence certain groups’ intent to participate in these COVID-19-related health behaviors. Finally, they will dive into practical solutions to ensure equal access to a vaccine.

Charles Senteio (@CharlesSenteio), MIT Sloan Visiting Assistant Professor, is the featured expert. Caitlin Owens (@caitlinnowens), a reporter with Axios, will host. Tune into the chat on Friday, January 15 at 11 a.m. ET by using the hashtag #MITSloanExperts and following @MITSloanExperts. Ask questions and add your comments on Twitter by tagging them with #MITSloanExperts.
