Universidad de Chile Data Analytics Certificate
In May 2019, MIT Sloan in conjunction with Universidad de Chile launched a Data Analytics Certificate, the School's first partnership with a university in Latin America, notably a public university. It is designed for managers and professionals who wish to deepen their knowledge in data-driven decision making. The program is taught in Santiago with participation from MIT faculty and includes two weeks of classes at MIT Sloan's campus in Cambridge, MA. Faculty from Universidad de Chile and MIT Sloan will focus on data analytics in a diversity of areas such as healthcare, retail, public policy, mining, banking, and telecommunications. Course modules include: Introduction to Data Science and Big Data, the Fundamentals of Data Mining and Machine Learning, Data-driven Decision Making, and Real-life Applications and Case Studies. Graduates of the program receive a certificate from Universidad de Chile. Graduates also receive a certificate from MIT Sloan for the MIT Immersion Program in Data Analytics.
Components:
- Estimated duration: 7 months between May and November (Universidad de Chile, Santiago) and 2 weeks in the following January (MIT Sloan School of Management, Cambridge, USA)
- MIT faculty visit Universidad de Chile to teach courses
- Universidad de Chile students visit MIT for two weeks to take courses
