Undergraduate
Double Major: Course 15-3 Finance + Course 6-14 Computer Science, Economics, and Data Science
This roadmap is an ‘MIT student optimized’ guide for structuring your schedule. Course 15 always encourages you to choose courses based upon interest, not by whichever checks off the most boxes. Please read the footnotes for additional options, email: ugeducation@sloan.mit.edu or come see us in E52-150 (Suite 133). Subjects that fulfill both Course 15 and Course 6-14 are in bold.

Notes:
1 Students who are 15-3 primary major and 6-14 secondary major can choose Economics for their HASS concentration and use up to five of their 6-14 requirements toward the HASS requirement.
2 Students can choose to take both 15.417 and 15.418. Students who take 15.401 (rather than 15.417) must then take 15.418. Students who take 15.402 (rather than 15.418) must take 15.417. Majors who take only one of 15.417 and 15.418, should take 15.276 to complete their second 15-3 CI-M and their 6-14 CI-M.
3Course 15/6 double majors can count 15.069 as a substitute for 14.30 (catalog will be updated in September ’25)
415.053 can fulfill a 15-3 Restricted Elective and can count toward the one of 15.053, 6.C571/15.C571, or 6.3260 requirement for 6-14.
5With maximum double counting, 3-9 additional units are needed to accrue the 180 units beyond GIRs.
**For students considering an MEng in Course 6-14 and wanting to complete their MEng in one year, you will want to plan your courseroad with two “extra” courses that you can apply toward your MEng. If you are planning on getting funding through an RA-ship/TA-ship for your MEng, you are restricted to two courses per MEng semester. Having two “extra” courses to apply toward your MEng will allow the possibility of graduating in a year (an MEng is typically six courses plus thesis). These “extra” courses cannot be double counted, i.e. used towards fulfilling your undergraduate Course 6 requirements, your undergraduate Course 15 requirements, GIRs, or 180 units beyond GIRs. Please see the Course 6 website for a list of eligible courses and confirm with Course 6 in advance and prior to taking a specific course if you would like that course to count toward your MEng.
