STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: What I learned from MIT Sloan's USA Lab class

Nick Brenner was looking forward to traveling to Leon County, Florida in March to do fieldwork as part of MIT Sloan's USA Lab class. Then the pandemic hit - and those plans changed.

Ask anyone who knows me, and they'll tell you how much I love Chicago. Many of my friends and family members were shocked when I packed my bags and moved from Chicago to Cambridge, Massachusetts for graduate school, especially since there are such excellent schools in the Chicago area. For me, it was a heart-wrenching decision, but after working in management consulting opened my eyes to how technology was contributing to our society's growing inequalities, I became set on learning how to drive shared prosperity and create a more equitable digital economy.
