Executive Electives Alumni FAQs

The 2027 January Executive Electives period will take place from January 6–9, 2027.

We will offer a number of shorter-form workshops on Thursday and Friday, January 7–8, 2027.

Registration for January Executive Electives will open on November 18 at 12:00 pm ET and close on December 14 at 5:00 pm ET.

A complete list of course offerings available to alumni and the dates on which they will take place will be available soon. Please check the January Executive Electives website for updates. 

All January Executive Electives courses will be held exclusively in person on MIT Sloan’s campus.

• We will accommodate as many waitlist requests as possible. 
• If a course has reached capacity and a waitlist is available, you'll see a "Join Waitlist" option next to the course and can add yourself to the waitlist. 
• If a seat becomes available, you'll receive an email notification at your preferred email address. You'll have 24 hours to update your registration and claim the available spot, so be sure to act quickly. Once the 24-hour window expires we will go to the next person in the waitlist queue. 
• To avoid missing your opportunity, keep an eye on your inbox throughout the registration period. 
• Important: By joining a waitlist, you are committing to that course as your preferred option for the scheduled time. You will not be able to register for another course taking place during the same time slot unless you leave the waitlist. 
• If you do not receive communication by Wednesday, December 14, about a change in your course placement based on a waitlist request, it means we were unable to accommodate a change to your course selections. 

A limited number of fee waivers for the course fee are available for those experiencing hardship or requiring financial assistance. Please email mitsloanelectives@mit.edu with the details of your request.
