2025 MIT Healthcare Certificate

2025 MIT Healthcare Certificate Ceremony

Fourteen Students Earn the MIT Healthcare Certificate

On May 12, 2025, 14 students from seven programs across the institute received the MIT Healthcare Certificate at a celebration at MIT’s Samberg Center.

Anne Quaadgras, Director of HSI and co-lead of Healthcare Lab, one of the required courses for the Certificate; Joe Doyle, faculty Director of HSI and Professor of Applied Economics; and Barry Stein, Sloan alumnus and Chief Clinical Innovation Officer and Chief Medical Informatics Officer, Hartford HealthCare, all spoke to offer their congratulations.

The Healthcare Certificate is open to all MIT students. It focuses on applying business principles to healthcare and addresses how to deliver excellent healthcare more effectively, with fewer resources wasted than in the current state. The Certificate courses prepare students to tackle these challenges by providing them with perspectives in operations, economics, entrepreneurship, biomedical innovation, data science, and finance.

As Barry Stein said, the degree and certificate signal to the world that the graduate is dedicated, passionate, and wants to participate in transforming healthcare.
