Enterprise Management Certificate (EMC) SFMBA curriculum requirements for AY 2025-26
Please note that some courses may not be offered this academic year and/or may experience scheduling or unit changes. Required subjects
SFMBAs meet all requirements except 15.830 EM-Lab as part of their required courses. Make sure to speak with your advisor to enroll in the course.
- 15.830 Enterprise Management Lab
- (Fall into IAP, 3 units in Fall, 6 units in IAP, required during 1st year)
- 15.414 Financial Management (Fall, 9 units)
- SFMBAs can waive their core Finance course 15.414 if they meet requirements set up by the Finance faculty. If this is the case, this requirement would be waived for the EMC, as well. Please notify the EMC Coordinator if this is the case.
- 15.778 Introduction to Operations Management (Summer, 9 units)
- 15.809 Marketing and Strategy (Summer, 9 units)
- 15.871 Introduction to System Dynamics (H3, 6 units)
- 15.900 Competitive Strategy (Fall/Spring, 9 units) OR 15.906 Competitive Strategy Bootcamp (H1, 3 units)
Note:
While participation in Hack-A-Thon (ES.608 SIP Workshop: Management Practice Hack-A-Thon) is not required for SFMBAs to earn the EMC, they are very highly encouraged to participate.
