Join us for a fascinating one-hour virtual conversation with CEO and Director of ResMed, a global leader in digital health and connected medical devices based in San Diego. Mick Farrell, LGO '98, offers an “inside view” into how ResMed pivoted its global business to help lead the global response to combat its deadliest pandemic in 100 years.
To deliver a record 150,000-plus life-saving high-quality hospital-to-home ventilators worldwide in the first half of 2020, a million small and big hurdles had to be overcome. From manufacturing and distribution challenges, to ethical allocation of products concerns, to cash flow and government relationship management, Mick shares the three-pronged approach his company adopted to ensure immediate and effective roll-out in the midst of an unprecedented turmoil.
“Mick” serves on the Board of Directors of the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) and Zimmer Biomet (NYSE: ZBH), a multibillion dollar public company that provides implantable musculoskeletal medical devices for patients globally. He also volunteers as a trustee for: the UC San Diego Foundation, Rady Children’s Hospital, and Father Joe’s Villages in San Diego. Mick holds a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from MIT, and a Master of Business Administration from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
