Join the MIT and MIT Sloan community for MIT Sloan Alumni Online, featuring Ilene Gordon, SB '75, SM '76, and Bram Bluestein discussing their book, Doubling Down: A Secret Sauce for Dual-Career Families.
Throughout their over 40 years of marriage, Ilene Gordon and Bram Bluestein raised two successful children and, later, became expert at indulging two beloved grandkids—all of this accomplished while embracing two high-impact careers. Ilene ultimately served as CEO of a Fortune 500 company and was named five times to Fortune's "50 Most Powerful Women in Business" U.S. list, and twice to Fortune’s international list. Bram held senior leadership positions at several of the most respected consulting firms in the world, including Boston Consulting Group, A.T. Kearney, and Booz Allen Hamilton. Along the way, Ilene and Bram learned how to navigate their personal and professional journeys—together, in what can be best described as gold-standard teamwork. Ilene and Bram will provide essential lessons for how you, too, can balance work, children, and life in general—and still soar to the top, no matter what your field.
