Ajit Kambil is a Managing Director in Executive Accelerators at Deloitte LLP where he leads its Transition Lab Innovation and Private Equity initiatives. In 2010, Ajit created Deloitte’s Executive Transition Labs, a personalized one-day executive workshop to help C-suite executives transition into new leadership roles. He has delivered 400+ Labs to executives in 25 countries. As the Transition Lab Innovation leader, he also digitized the Transition Labs, enabling efficient delivery of 500+ labs per year. As a Private Equity leader, he brings the Labs, client experience and other value creation innovations to Deloitte’s Private Equity clients.
Ajit was a founding member of Deloitte’s US CFO Program where he oversaw the program’s eminence and digital strategies and brought numerous innovations to life. Prior to the CFO Program, Ajit led Deloitte Research – its think tank. Before Deloitte, Ajit was an Associate Partner in Strategy and Senior Research Fellow at Accenture.
Previously as faculty at NYU’s Stern of School of Business he led the NSF sponsored EDGAR on the Internet project creating one of the first major financial applications on the Internet. He also pioneered eCommerce courses in its MBA and Executive programs. Ajit is widely published in journals ranging from the Harvard Business Review to IEEE Computer. His latest book The Leadership Accelerator was published by McGraw Hill in January 2023 and his previous book Making Markets was published by Harvard Business School Press. Ajit has a PhD and SM from the MIT Sloan School of Management, and two other degrees from MIT.
