Oscar J. Benavidez, MD, MPP, MBA is Chief of Pediatric Cardiology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Executive Director of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery and Cardiac Catheterization for Mass General Brigham, where he leads strategy, operations, and integration across a 14-site network. He is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and has developed nationally recognized research in patient safety, quality, and congenital cardiology.
Dr. Benavidez also serves as a Principal and Physician Advisor at CD Healthcare Infrastructure Partners, where he provides strategic insight into community-based health care infrastructure investments, and as a Board Advisor for both Newton-Wellesley Hospital and the David Ortiz Children’s Fund.
He earned his MD from Harvard Medical School, an MPP in health care economics from the Harvard Kennedy School, and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management, specializing in enterprise transformation and corporate strategy. His career bridges clinical excellence, academic leadership, and system innovation, with expertise in health system integration, value-based care, philanthropy, and workforce development.
