Jeffrey Saviano is a leader in innovation, disruptive technology strategy, governance, and ethical AI. Now EY-retired after more than three decades with the firm, Jeff pioneered innovation, developing and commercializing 25+ businesses and solutions generating over $400M in annuity revenue. He is a trusted advisor to corporate boards and C-suites, leveraging deep expertise in AI, Web3, and technology-driven transformation. He is also qualified to serve as a financial expert under SEC, NYSE, and NASDAQ rules.
As the former AI Leader for the EY Center for Board Matters, Jeff educated and advised over 100 corporate boards, board committees, and senior leadership teams on AI strategy, governance, and responsible technology adoption from 2023-2025. His expertise extends to advising government and commercial clients on AI and emerging technology initiatives. Jeff led EY’s research collaboration with MIT Connection Science, established in 2018, focusing on enterprise AI strategy, risk, and new governance models for senior executives.
Jeff played a pivotal role in shaping EY’s global innovation strategy, particularly for its $11B Tax and Law business. As a senior leader in EY’s global innovation and Tax/Law leadership teams, he led the development of new tech-enabled businesses, business models, and solutions for global markets – including TaxChat, Data Permissions Navigator, ACA solutions, and Document Intelligence (EY’s first data extraction AI system). He also led the EY Advanced Technology Lab, fostering breakthrough innovations, and co-founded The Prosperity Collaborative, a partnership with EY, the World Bank, MIT, and NGOs, applying innovative technology to improve public and private sector systems.
Jeff held multiple senior P&L leadership roles at EY, driving growth, operational efficiency, and digital transformation at scale. As CEO of EY’s $500M Indirect Tax Practice, he led 2,000+ professionals across the Americas, overseeing P&L management, market strategy, talent, risk, and compliance. He also provided final technical review on the financial statement implications of complex tax matters, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards. Under his leadership, the practice consistently ranked among EY’s highest-growth business units, more than doubling in size during his tenure.
Jeff is a sought-after speaker and contributor on AI governance, innovation, and disruptive technology strategy. He is the author of Boundaries of Tolerance (Wiley, 2026), a forthcoming book on AI strategy, governance, and ethics. He also leads TEDxNaples, curating public dialogue on leading topics and innovative ideas.
Jeff’s insights have been featured at the Vatican, World Economic Forum, TEDx, U.S. Congressional Roundtable, U.S. Treasury, Nasdaq, United Nations, World Bank, and the National Association of Corporate Directors, influencing global perspectives on responsible AI adoption. In 2024, his Fortune Op-Ed urged corporate boards to take a proactive role in AI governance.
Jeff holds an LL.M in Taxation (BU Law), JD (Syracuse College of Law), and a BBA in Accounting (Iona). Jeff recently held a research appointment at the Harvard University Edmond & Lily Safra Center for Ethics, along with prior fellowships or appointments at Boston University School of Law, New America, and the U.S. Department of Commerce.
