Global Programs

IDEAS ASIA PACIFIC

IDEAS (Innovative Dynamic Education and Action for Sustainability) is a transformational leadership program that has been conducted for over a decade with leaders from Indonesia and China. It equips participants with new knowledge, skills, and frameworks to transform their collective leadership style for sustainability.

IDEAS is designed to engage leaders across sectors to jointly take on complex sustainable development challenges including conservation, education, and business/social enterprise across a one-year, practice-based journey. Together, they identify root causes and collectively develop a closer relationship, working to implement the solutions that are created.

After an orientation and introduction to System Thinking and other problem-solving and innovation principles developed by MIT Sloan senior lecturers Peter Senge and Otto Scharmer, IDEAS fellows spend the remainder of their curriculum building prototypes (projects), retreats, field trips, practice-sharing (shadowing), and other group-based activities.

The IDEAS Asia Pacific program was developed in collaboration with the United in Diversity (UID). The 2024 program is a Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Leadership Lab focused on transforming systems for better business and better world. It is open to participants from the Asia Pacific region.
