Tracy Purinton

Tracy Purinton is a Senior Lecturer and Advisor to the MIT Leadership Center at the MIT Sloan School of Management.

At MIT Sloan, Purinton teaches two of the four sections of ID Lab: Individual Development and Interpersonal Dynamics, a signature Leadership Center course for first-year MBAs, and coordinates instructional consistency across all four sections. She also teaches Leading on Purpose, an intensive four-day course held during MIT's Independent Activities Period, and leads team launch sessions for MBA Orientation as well as for Sloan's Action Learning courses.

As Advisor to the MIT Leadership Center, Purinton leads curriculum design, development, and integration of the Center's signature courses, and advises its leadership team and affiliated faculty on program design and strategy. She has spent most of her career at MIT, beginning in the Division of Student Life as Assistant Dean for Student Activities and then serving 14 years as Director of the MIT Leadership Center, before moving into her primarily teaching role in 2023.

Purinton holds a BA from Middlebury College and an MEd from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
