When I was graduating, I think what I most needed to hear was that this community doesn’t end with Commencement—it actually begins there. You’re stepping into a global caring network of people—who’ve wrestled with the same late-night problem sets, lived the intensity of our academic journey, and now bring that same energy to boardrooms, startups, policy circles, and everything in between. 
What I would’ve loved to hear then—and what I’ll say now—is: reach out. This network is one of the most generous, curious, and inspiring groups you’ll ever be part of. Whether you're navigating your next career step, launching something bold, or just moving to a new city, Sloanies show up for each other. 
And don’t wait to feel like you’ve “made it” before giving back. Your insights, your questions, your presence—all of that is already valuable. Learning never stops!

That feeling was short-lived, however, as I soon realized that my two years at Sloan were merely foundational. Congrats on graduating and I’d like to welcome you to the Sloan Alumni Community! Just a few years ago, when I was in your shoes, I wondered aloud what kind of impact I wanted to make on the world after crossing the stage to accept my diploma. What I’ve realized, years later, is that the best impact on society starts with truly innovative leaders who are willing to listen, dream big, remain levelheaded and pragmatic when challenged, and remember to keep people first while tackling some of the business world’s biggest problems. I’d implore you to leverage your access to the generous Sloan Alumni Community and your classmates, leaning on their experience and expertise to guide you and remain active in your new communities by giving back in time and, if able, resources, to cultivate the next generation of principled & innovative leaders.
