Professional Headshots at MIT Sloan

The Iris Photo Booth condenses a full-size photo studio into a fun, modern 20 square foot space, allowing for free, professional-quality headshots for the entire MIT Sloan Community.

Whether you need a new LinkedIn photo, a fresh image for an upcoming conference, or just want to update your headshot, the Iris Photo Booth offers a convenient, easy-to-use solution. The booth produces high-quality photos that reflect the professionalism of our community. *Staff and faculty also have the option to use these photos to update their MySloan profile. 

  • Location:
    • E51, basement floor outside of MIT Sloan Teaching & Learning Technologies.
  • Availability :
    • 24/7 with building access for all MIT Sloan community members.
    • No appointment necessary.
  • Appropriate use:
    • Please ensure that all photos are free of inappropriate gestures, props, or nudity.
    • The MIT Sloan Brand Strategy team has administrative access to all photos and periodically reviews them to maintain appropriate use and content. Any misuse may lead to suspension of future access to the booth.
  • Dress code suggestions:
    • Business wear is optional.
    • We recommend wearing solid colors.
    • A small amount of color is fine (tie or sweater), but stay away from loud prints or a lot of color.
  • Accessibility and accommodations:
    • If you have accessibility needs or require any additional accommodations, please email us at mitsloanphotobooth@mit.edu to schedule a session for your professional headshot.
  • Saving and printing photos:
    • Users are responsible for downloading and saving their images immediately after the session.
    • MIT Sloan is not responsible for lost or unsaved files. Photos taken in the booth are not permanently stored by MIT Sloan. Users should ensure they retrieve their images before exiting the session.
    • If you'd like to print your downloaded photos, we'd suggest reaching out to MIT Copy Tech. 

How it works:

  • The Iris photo booth is self-service with a touch screen, high-quality lighting, and camera equipment.
    • Watch this short video from Iris to see the booth in action

  • Information about getting ready for your photo session can be found on the Iris Booth product website.
  • When your session begins, you will enter the Iris Booth, sit on the adjustable stool, and follow the prompts on the screen.
    • You may stand if you prefer.
  • You will be asked to enter your MIT email address and accept the terms to continue.
    • Ensure your email is entered correctly, or you won't recieve your photos.
  • To take and edit your photos, follow the prompts on the screen.
    • Edits include: teeth whitening, blemish removal, skin softening, etc.
    • You may further edit your photos after your session on your own device.
  • The booth will take a series of three (3) photos during your session.
    • You must have all 3 photos taken during your session for the photos to be saved to the system.
    • You will receive an email following your session that includes a link to your photos for you for download and edit at your convenience.
