Joseph (Joe) Moran is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the MIT Sloan School of Management.

He is interested in the interplay between information, incentives, and decision-making, both inside and outside the firm. He uses a wide set of research methods including field experiments, surveys, and archival analyses both within a firm and in broad-sample settings.

Joe holds a PhD in accounting from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Previously, he worked as an auditor for PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he served mid- to large-sized private equity- and family-owned businesses. He earned a Bachelor's of business administration from the University of Notre Dame and is licensed as a CPA (inactive) in Illinois.
