Double Major: Course 15-3 Finance + Course 18 Mathematics

This roadmap is an ‘MIT student optimized’ guide for structuring your schedule. Course 15 always encourages you to choose courses based upon interest, not by whichever checks off the most boxes. Please read the footnotes for additional options, email: ugeducation@sloan.mit.edu or come see us in E52-150 (Suite 133).

Subjects that fulfill both Course 15 and Course 18 are in bold.

Notes:
1Students can choose to take both 15.417 and 15.418. Students who take 15.401 (rather than 15.417) must then take 15.418. Students who take 15.402 (rather than 15.418) must take 15.417. Majors who take only one of 15.417 and 15.418, must take 15.276 or 15.279 to complete their second CI-M.
218.05 can fulfill the Probability+Statistics requirement for Course 15 and is a Course 18 Elective. Students can also take 18.600 and 18.650 to fulfill the Probability+Statistics requirement for Course 15 and as Course 18 electives.
314.01 is a HASS subject. 15.0111 is not a HASS subject. If students take 15.0111, the 9 units will count toward the 180 units beyond GIRs and students will need to take another HASS subject.
4Students can use no more than one subject in their primary major department to fulfill the REST requirement. Course 18 primary majors will need a non-Course 18 REST. 15.053 (15-3 Restricted Elective) can be used to fulfill the REST requirement. Course 15 primary majors can take both REST subjects in Course 18.
5 Plan your Course 18 Electives accordingly to fulfill the Course 18 distributed restricted electives and the required Math CI-M subjects.
6 Depending on the amount of double counting towards major and GIR requirements, additional units will be needed to accrue the 180 units beyond GIRs
