About
Simone Cavallaro is the Executive Director of the Golub Center for Finance and Policy (GCFP) at the MIT Sloan School of Management. He brings extensive experience leading academic centers, building strategic initiatives, and translating research into broader impact.
Prior to joining MIT, Simone was Director of Operations and Outreach at the Querrey Simpson Institute for Bioelectronics (QSIB) at Northwestern University, where he oversaw core operations and supported strategic engagement efforts. Previously, he served as Director of Academic Affairs and Business Development at The Family Institute at Northwestern University, where he helped launch the online MS in Marriage and Family Therapy program and led key operational and growth initiatives.
Simone also served as Director of the Stigler Center for the Study of the Economy and the State at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. During his tenure, he launched major public-facing initiatives, including the Journalists in Residence Program and the Capitalisn’t podcast, and expanded the Center’s external partnerships and visibility.
He began his career at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, where he supported behavioral research as Manager of Business Research.
Simone completed the Executive Program for Emerging Leaders at Chicago Booth and received the Optimizing Research and Teaching Award at Kellogg. A native of Italy, he holds an MA in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of Padua and is currently pursuing an MBA at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
