Join the MIT Climate Policy Center (CPC) in welcoming Didem Nisanci to the Global Climate Policy Project (GCPP) at Harvard and MIT, a CPC flagship project, as a Senior Fellow for Climate and Geoeconomics. Didem brings deep experience at the highest levels of US and global economic policymaking, most recently serving as Chief of Staff to U.S. Treasury Secretary Jane L. Yellen, where she helped lead Treasury’s domestic and international agenda and established the Department’s first Climate hub.
She was also a founding executive of the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures. Earlier in her career, she held senior positions at the US Securities and Exchange Commission and the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking.
Didem, who joined CPC and GCPP in December 2025, is providing leadership at the intersection of climate, finance, and geoeconomics, supporting GCPP’s efforts to help countries navigate the clean-energy transition and its global implications.
