SilverCloud: Improving Patient Success Rates for an Online Mental Health Platform

SilverCloud by Amwell is an evidence-based mental health intervention platform focused on treating mild to moderate anxiety and depression. Users interact with a therapist and can enroll in courses to support their therapy. The company reports its offering is clinically proven to be as effective as face-to-face therapy at a fraction of the cost, with up to 80% of users showing improvement in anxiety and depression.

HSI researchers are working on two collaborations with SilverCloud. First, Brian Liu, a PhD student supervised by Professor Rahul Mazumder, is collaborating with SilverCloud on research to understand how to improve patient success rates. PhD student Joyce Luo, under the supervision of Professor Georgia Perakis, is working on optimizing support messaging for patients.
