MIT Sloan Latin America Women on Boards Program

The newly launched MIT Sloan Women on Boards in Latin America Program is a different kind of board education program, uniquely focused on empowering and equipping accomplished professionals with the skills and tools necessary to navigate and succeed in corporate boardrooms. The 2025-2026 program is focused on Mexico.  The goal of MSWoB is to increase the number of Latin American women joining—and succeeding on—corporate boards.

What We Do

  • Concretely prepare and support more qualified women to become part of boards.
  • Build a connected community of board-ready women for mutual support and networking.
  • Constructively engage director selection “decision makers” for meaningful improvements to the board search process.
  • Create and selectively distribute a curated “Magic List” of elite board candidates.
  • Deliver a comprehensive program combining practical perspectives from industry leaders with academic expertise from distinguished MIT professors.

The MIT Sloan Women on Boards in Latin America program is designed to prepare participants on how to overcome barriers that result in their underrepresentation on boards. Although the Program is designed to increase the representation of women on corporate boards, it is open to all applicants.

Immersion Programs

Universidad de Chile

Established in collaboration with Universidad de Chile in 2020, the Data Analytics Certificate Program was created to help develop well-rounded professionals equipped to tackle regional data challenges. The program grew out of the relationship between MIT Sloan Global Programs’ Latin America Office and Universidad de Chile, following the 2017 “Strategic Analytics: Changing the Future of Healthcare” conference in Santiago. A key component of the program includes MIT Sloan faculty teaching in Santiago—featuring sessions by Roberto Rigobon (Estimation & Approximation) and Rob Freund (Introduction to Practical Predictive and Prescriptive Analytics).

In addition to coursework in Santiago with both UChile and MIT Sloan faculty, participants travel to MIT Sloan for a two-week immersion experience featuring faculty-led seminars, cultural exchange, cross-program networking, and company visits focused on innovation and data strategy.
