Tim Valicenti is a Lecturer with expertise in Generative AI, Machine Learning, and Operations Research. He sits in our Information Technology group at MIT Sloan.

 Valicenti’s courses focus heavily on the application of generative AI for various industries. He co-created the class Generative AI for Managers as well as Generative AI Lab. 

 Prior to joining our faculty in 2024, Tim led both strategy and data science teams at McKinsey & Company where he was a manager. He also started out at QuantumBlack as a machine learning engineer and operations research specialist.

 Valicenti received a BS in Mechanical Engineering (17’) from Brown University where he specialized in mathematics research covering stochastic processes, simulation, differential equations, and particle physics. He holds both a Master of Business Administration (24’) and a Master of Analytics (18’) from MIT.
