About the MIT G-Lab 2026-2027 video
A mandatory part of the G-Lab questionnaire process is the creation of a short, 3-minute max video. (Students are clear they will not watch long videos and have negative impressions of projects with long videos. Resist the temptation!) The goal is a lowkey, casual introduction to your firm, your offices, your people, and your location.
Do:
- Personalize your video; explain why G-Lab and the project can be important to your company.
- Introduce us to the project owner and other folks the team will likely work with. Walk us around your offices, maybe the coffee room, maybe where the team will sit, maybe your lunchroom, lunch trucks or whatever you do for lunch, maybe the view out your window, and maybe something you like about your office and your co-workers.
Do not:
- Please do *not* submit traditional glossy highly produced videos created by your marketing department. Skip the music and heavy editing.
- Please do *not* be a talking head reading your project questionnaire. Show us something different! This is about color and context and what it’s actually like to show up and work at your offices.
The video is a human-scaled introduction to other humans. Simple is so good!
